Discernment

What is discernment?

The term discernment as it applies to spirituality refers to one’s ability to intuit which spiritual information, people, and experiences are harmful or fear-based distortions of spiritual truth, and which information, people, and experiences are undistorted and conducive to positive growth.

Strong discernment skills in the spiritual realm are often hard-earned only after extensive experience and shadow work.

Discernment enables us to identify spiritual abuse, separation consciousness masked as unity, and other mechanisms for control or division.

Discernment also enables us to make a grounded analysis of our own spiritual experiences and prevents us from sliding into delusion.

When Psychics and Spiritual Teachers Feel “Off”

I’m sure many of you have had experiences where you’ve come across a spiritual teacher who just didn’t resonate with you, or perhaps you had a psychic reading from someone that just didn’t feel quite right. That being said, it is of the utmost importance that each of us takes responsibility for detaching ourselves from what we WANT to be true, and get off our lazy asses to find out what actually IS true.
