How to Contact Your Spirit Guides: Part 3

Question from a reader:

“When it comes to spirit guides, is there anyway that we can learn how to determine who is giving us the help when we don’t easily know?”

That’s a great question and a very interesting topic.

When it comes to guides, it’s not really that important to know which one is doing the guiding. They’ll get the job done no matter what, but it’s fun to learn who is who, nevertheless.

One of the ways you can learn to discern between guides is by focusing on their energy and what it feels like.

When I first began communicating with my spirit team, I would sit in meditation and ask each of them to touch me, taking care to pay attention to the differences in how the energy felt.

I have a primary guide who appeared to me in a dream as a mountain. When I channel him, he feels very strong, authoritative and stern… kind of like a mountain. 🙂

Energy can have a masculine feel, a feminine feel, an androgynous feel, or you could pick up on the personality of the individual, but rather understanding it through words and phrases like you would someone in real life, you pick up on it energetically. It physically feels different.

I don’t really try to differentiate between my guides anymore. I sort of just refer to them as a collective: the A-Team. haha! I don’t really bother with trying to get them to give me names, either. They don’t care, and ultimately they are aspects of my higher self, so I’ve taken to naming them myself (if there’s one in particular that I can differentiate between).

    Thank you Ash. I feel that this post was addressing my question to you on how to know from whom my answers are coming from. Excellent answer, helped me a lot. The only one I know for sure is Erik. He’s such a “prankster” and he always makes it light and humorous but he always gets the message to me. His answers are usually quick, short and to the point. I told him dreams helped me when answering but he’s figured out how t answer during waking hours with what I best describe as a black and white cartoon and I get the message clearly. The CE family including you came into my life when I needed you most. I was in a very dark space and now I feel I live in light. Thank you so much. Tony Sewell

    Once i felt a hand touch my back in the night and i could see it in my mind’s eye. I completely forgot about that, was not too long ago.

    I felt like I was much more in tune with the other side when I was pregnant. I have tried to get there again, but never really feel as connected. Is this common?

    I dunno if that’s common or not – I’ve never been pregnant 🙂 I think I’ve heard of people reporting heightened intuition during pregnancy though.
