Can You Ever Ask Too Much Of Your Spirit Guides?

Question from a reader:

“As I navigate down my spiritual path, I’ll ask for signs to help me through some unclear paths. However, as I continue to navigate a specific aspect of my path, I wonder about the possibility of asking for too many signs. As if asking for signs for the “same thing,” feels like it could be self-involved or seeking praise. Is there such a thing as asking for too much from our spiritual guides?”

Well, I think that really depends on what you mean by asking too much. I’ve come across people who literally think their spirit guides are responsible for everything they’ve experienced in their lives and blame their guides for all of the decisions that they’ve made with negative consequences.

Ultimately, this is just a way for them to avoid taking responsibility for themselves and their lives. In that instance – yes, asking your guides to be responsible for living your life for you is asking too much, as it completely defeats the purpose of being here. But I don’t think this is what you’re talking about. 🙂

When it comes to asking for signs and validation that you’re headed the right direction, no, I don’t think it’s possible to ask for too much. Of course, at some point, you have to start to trust yourself. Getting there can be difficult, especially when the situation you’re looking at is scary as fuck. But that’s what trusting the universe is all about.

I know, I’ve been there. I’m standing at the precipice once again. But over the last four years, I’ve learned to trust my intuition more and more, and while initially, I did need to receive sign after sign after sign to reassure me that what I was thinking and feeling was right, I’ve gotten much better about accepting the first one and recognizing the intuitive tug that comes with it.

Of course, when much much bigger things come along, that tend to be more long term, I like to have multiple reassurances. Especially when the decision I’m being asked to make is a part of my own growth, because I know that there are going to be things thrown at me on multiple occasions throughout the process for the expressed purpose of testing me.

Throughout all of it, divine guidance has yet to leave me. It may shift into different forms that aren’t my typical go to, such as dreams and tarot, but it comes nevertheless.

Your guides purpose is to help you get to where you want (and need) to be. When you’re asking for reassurance, you’re in agreement to working WITH your higher purpose. The ultimate goal is for you to be self-sufficient, but we all need help once in a while, and they’re here on this path with you to support you.

Thanks for being here,

Ash
