Religious Rituals After Death
Question from a reader:
In reality, your soul is an aspect of God itself. It really needs no help. For the most part, I think that religious rituals, as well as funerals and other such things are more about the people who are still here than the ones who died.
“Do religious rituals after death help the soul in any way?”
Funerals are for the living, to give them an opportunity to have closure after the death of a loved one. Prayers are certainly heard, although it’s the sentiment and the emotion behind them which is important, not necessarily what is being asked for or said.
Rituals are only symbolic of the energy that’s put into them and the intention behind them. So even the rituals themselves aren’t necessary – only the emotion. But for some people, it’s helpful to be able to anchor those emotions into physical reality through symbolic gestures.

My first reaction to the reading was WOW. Your words captured a theme woven into my life right now. The reading has emboldened me to take back my power and inspired me to research some books, get back to meditating and provided a focus.Dina
