I took a trip to Mobile, Alabama last summer to visit my mom and while I was there – actually in the car on our way to the beach – I had the random idea to create a lifestyle blog centered around spirituality that incorporated more than just talking about metaphysics. I wanted to show people how they could apply spiritual philosophy to all the things in their lives.
I had the idea that I would incorporate many of my favorite things here – healthy eating, organic gardening, up-cycling and DIYs, home decor, fashion. All of these things are extensions of yourself and spiritual living changes how you think about all of it. When I got started, the spiritual side surprised me and it really took off.
I actually ended up focusing entirely on that for the vast majority of my first year. This year, now that I’ve moved into a new home and have a brand new sacred space to fill, I want to start bringing in more of that original concept, like my post from yesterday about creating your own altar. I’m also looking forward to letting people get to know me a little bit better.
I am so thrilled at how successful this first year has been. I gave my first online class. I exceeded 400 followers on Pinterest. I have more than 200 blog subscribers, nearly 1,000 Facebook fans, and a private Facebook group just for my own little blog tribe with more than 200 members. Who knew that many people cared what I have to say?!
And, of course, for the last couple of weeks I’ve been giving away free one card tarot readings to all new subscribers (which, by the way, will be valid until midnight, tonight – so if you haven’t subscribed yet, do so by 12AM Central and you can get one, too). Thank you to everyone who made this first year a success! I’m truly excited to see what year two will bring.
My first reaction to the reading was WOW. Your words captured a theme woven into my life right now. The reading has emboldened me to take back my power and inspired me to research some books, get back to meditating and provided a focus.Dina
