How Dreams Can Predict The Future

Question from a reader:

“Can dreams predict the future?”

Yes, dreams can predict the future, although most of the time it’s not in the way most people assume. In some instances, you may have a dream and then see that event occur in real life in exactly the same way that it happened in your dream. This is what most people think of when they think about dreams predicting the future and it’s a rare occurrence for the most part.

Dreams can often give indicators of future events in a less literal way, though, and a lot of people miss the cues because they don’t know what to look for or how to identify what they’re being shown.

Here’s a few examples:

When I was in college, I dreamed that my ex boyfriend left his fiancee at the alter and asked me to marry him instead. A month or so later, they broke off their engagement and he asked me out on a date. As you can see, this wasn’t exactly what occurred in the dream, but the general theme was correct.

A few years ago, while I was sleeping on a flight to Europe, I was in the middle of a dream when the “volume” on the dream was completely turned off and a voice came in over the top (while the imagery from the original dream was still happening, almost like an emergency broadcast) and said, “Listen! Brother… car accident.”

I was completely freaked out the rest of the trip, but nothing happened. Six months later, that dream randomly popped into my head and I thought, “Well I guess it was nothing.” Two days later, my brother walked away from a head-on collision with barely a scratch on him.

Many dreams can show you, generally speaking, what will happen for you if you follow certain guidance that you’re being given within them. These things will show up symbolically and sometimes literally, or a mixture of the two.

  1. When I was 22 and I am now 60, I had a dream that was very traumatizing. I woke up in the morning and was very upset by the dream. As the day unfolded the dream unfolded almost exactly as it was in my sleep. I always felt as though it was some forewarning by my higher self preparing me in advance. Nothing like this as occurred since.

  2. When I was about 15 my grandmother had gave me a necklace and I once lost it. I had no idea how or even where it was. I went to sleep thinking of it. I had a dream that I got up, only to see my body laying down on my bed, I walked to my younger brothers room and looked under his bed as if I already knew where it was. The necklace was under his bed. When I woke up I had a weird feeling that my dream was more than a simple coincides since the necklace was in the exact place as it was in my dream. I still wonder how my necklace got there in the first place and how I knew where it was exactly.

  3. I once dreamed that me and my whole family were in the garden and I heard my aunt say ”be careful don’t get any water in the babies’ ears” and I didn’t realise what I was doing so I was confused by what my aunt was saying. Two days later I’m in the garden and my uncle starts to shoot everyone with a water gun we all run around the garden trying to be avoided then I stopped in the exact place that I was in the dream and heard my aunt say ”be careful don’t get any water in the babies’ ears”. It all came back to me then and I still get dreams like this.
